I loved reading this newsletter.

1. Your prose and vocabulary were refreshing to read. Since I've been reading about writing online, a lot of the advice talks about simplifying language. As an avid reader, I've felt the need to reduce my use of favorite words and literary phrases. Your writing was a good reminder to stay true to my voice and not succumb to viral trends.

2. The balance of leisure and work: This section was good. For me, I lean more into pushing productivity and performance (even as a home manager/aka stay-at-home mom). Meaningful rest and self-care are things I am learning need to be seen as maintenance, not just recovery.

3. I've found that creating structure has really helped me create boundaries as a new writer. On weekdays when the kids are at school, I've worked to create a block schedule for household management tasks, writing, reading/learning about writing, and working out/walking outdoors.

4. This is probably way more than anyone wants in response to an article. But I really did appreciate your newsletter this week, and wanted to take time to reflect and share about what stood out.

Hey Rebekah, thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment.

I enjoyed your February 11 newsletter and hope to keep up to date with them all as you publish them.

1. Thank-you. I guess you know with AI and everything I think personal style and taste may become more appreciated with writing so I just try to let it flow and edit to how I would like to read an article. But if you are more concerned with growth perhaps simplifying language may be better, I guess it is a balance.

2. Yes I tend towards doing this as well. I know I should go to the sauna more regularly as a sort of maintenance for general health but I always wait until I feel like crap to go.

3. That's great I'm a fan of the block schedule as well as it's easier to keep track of time. I use online timers and a software called Clockify to track everything when working or doing investing tasks. Clockify will send you a weekly report email of what you have spent your time doing.

Thanks Bekka, best of luck with the Substack, I think it's a great platform.
